All I can say is I LOVE my boys. What a fun, spiritual, amazing, stressful, exciting experience this has been so far. There really is nothing like it in the world.
So here is a little bit of the story. Braxton decided that he was very comfortable inside of me and was in no hurry to come out.. which is why I have a picture of me here at 41 weeks along. This was the night that my doctor induced me.
We packed up all our things for the hospital and headed for Kiva juice :) Even though it is 20-25 minutes in the opposite direction of the hospital. I had to have something good before I was only allowed ice chips and suckers!
We finally arrived and got things going around midnight. Surprisingly when they hooked me up to the monitors I was already having contractions and just didn't know it. I was pretty happy to know things were already moving right along and I was in no pain at all! (little did I know what horrible pain was just around the corner).
Around 6 in the morning I woke up feeling like I really needed to go to the bathroom and when I sat up I realized that I couldn't hold it! Frantically I woke Jeff up and told him to unplug all my cords and help me get to the bathroom quick cause I was definitely wetting the bed! So in a daze Jeff helps me out of bed and water goes all over the floor ha ha. Im not going to lie, I was pretty relived to find out I still really did have bladder control and that my water had just broken.
After that little experience things moved very quickly and he contractions got very painful, very fast. I felt so lucky to have an epidural. I don't know how the pioneer women did it. I dilated to a 10 within 2 hours of my water breaking and was ready to go! I pushed for only.. 2 hours ha ha, yes I don't want to hear about all you 10 and 20 minute women, and Braxton was born!
I absolutely have loved being a mom and I love watching Jeff be a dad. It is so much fun to learn how to do things together. There is nothing better in the world than taking care of my two boys.
Exciting! Scary! and Awesome! He's soo cute, too!
